Pulpwatch is an ongoing project. We are currently working to ensure every market pulp mill in the world is included in the database. While the inital focus is on market pulp mills, further integrated and paper-only mills will be added in the future. Existing mills continue to be updated as information becomes available.
This overview map shows the best and worst mills in the world. Each mill in the world has been assigned ratings for each of four basic criteria of the Common Vision of the Environmental Paper Network. The average rating of each mill are compared using a standard distribution model. Resultingly, the 'worst' mills in the world (<1.6 standard deviations from the mean) are displayed with a red icon, while the 'best' (>1.6 standard deviations from the mean) are displayed with a green icon. These ratings do not imply an endorsement of the products by the Environmental Paper Network.
